Eighteen months into his accounting degree, Stasi Hatzilaou switched over to law.
‘I did a law unit, and it inspired me!’ said Stasi, who joined Ward Keller’s graduate program in June 2017 after a stint as a law clerk with another Darwin firm. After completing his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in 2017, he’ll be admitted to practise in the NT.
Stasi loves his new workplace. ‘It’s brilliant here. I love the culture’, he said. ‘Everyone’s friendly, and all the lawyers are welcoming and willing to help you.’
Stasi started his rotation in the firm’s mining area and will move to the litigation cell next. ‘I’ve really enjoyed mining law. It’s interesting’, he said. ‘I love being exposed to so many different matters.’
Stasi was born in Greece and moved to Darwin with his family when he was four. An active person, Stasi played soccer for many years and recently started his own basketball team. He’s also heavily involved in Darwin’s Greek community.
