Stella Noor joined Ward Keller in December 2017 while completing her Bachelor of Laws and has been practising law since February 2021.

Stella is a lawyer in the firm’s energy and resources team and acts for junior and senior mining and petroleum companies in the Northern Territory.

Stella has experience in mineral tenement sale transactions, due diligence reporting for mining and petroleum transactions, stamp duty, native title, Aboriginal land rights, and legal research and analysis and has undertaken extensive research and analysis of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth), Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 (Cth) and the various legislation in the Northern Territory that applies to mining and petroleum.

Stella also has experience with general commercial transactions including commercial property leasing, settlements of commercial and pastoral property and due diligence reporting for commercial transactions.

Born in Paddington NSW, Stella moved to Darwin at the tender age of 14 months and has lived in Darwin all her life. She is also a huge fan of the Carlton Football Club and is an avid believer that they will make the grand final, one day (and honestly thought 2022 was their year).

Outside work (if she ever makes it, because she practically ‘lives at the firm’), Stella volunteers for Darwin Community Legal Service providing free legal services to members of the community, and Top End Women’s Legal Service providing free legal advice to women. Stella supports community legal services and freely gives her time to these legal clinics because she believes access to justice is important as it is an essential element to the rule of law. Stella also tutors Indigenous law students at Charles Darwin University through its First Nations Student Services Tutorial Support Program.
