With her University of Adelaide law degree freshly stamped, Sarah Dowd joined Ward Keller as a Graduate Clerk in December 2016.
Sarah grew up in Darwin but completed her senior high schooling at an all-girls private boarding school in Adelaide.
‘I always wanted to study at Adelaide Uni and use it as a launch pad to come back up to Darwin to practise’, she said. ‘I’ve been very fortunate to have one of the best educations on offer, so I feel very lucky.’
Sarah started her graduate rotation in the firm’s commercial division before moving on to litigation. She said her rotation around the firm is a great way to learn.
‘You get exposure to so many areas of law that Ward Keller practises in—it’s great experience for a young lawyer’, Sarah said.
‘Ward Keller was always my number one pick for that reason, and I’m getting plenty of hands-on legal work with the support of the firm’s terrific lawyers. I’m learning a lot.’
Outside work, Sarah shoots off to travel around Indonesia any chance she gets. She’s heavily involved in pool lifesaving, coaching the NT lifesaving team a few years ago.
