After her few years practising in Ward Keller’s litigation team, in 2016, Clarissa Phillips decided to broaden her insurance experience.
‘I spent a year working on insurance and employment law matters for another NT firm to see what the other side of the fence was like’, said Clarissa, who took over the workers’ compensation practice from the firm’s special counsel when they went on maternity leave.
Clarissa returned to Ward Keller in June 2017.
‘It was a terrific opportunity and so beneficial to learn how both sides work’, said Clarissa. ‘The move has given me insight into how insurers work, and I now have experience advocating for employers, insurers and workers.
‘I missed Ward Keller and working with the plaintiff side, so I was happy to bring that new experience back’, she said. ‘It’s fantastic to be back. It feels like home here.’
Clarissa has lived in the NT for most of her life. She enjoys exploring the NT whenever she can—particularly camping and going to festivals.
